What to Expect:

The Youth Ministry program at River Hills provides students in 6th-12th grade with a safe space to explore and grow in faith, spend time in fellowship, and have a lot of fun in the process. These three F’s (Faith, Fellowship, and Fun) guide everything we do! We spend time together on Wednesday nights during Youth Group and Sunday mornings during Sunday School. Join us for games, service projects, learning, occasional outings, and more as we discover who we are in God’s eyes and what He has created us to do. For more information, contact our Director of Family Ministries, Seth Horstman. Let him know if you'd like to sign up for the Weekly Family Ministries Update email containing the most up-to-date information.

Youth Group:

Youth Group is for students in grades 6-12 and meets in the Youth Room (lower level of the church) Wednesday nights during the school year. Dinner starts at 5:30p ($5 donation), with youth group and other classes from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Youth Group varies each week, but we usually play a game, do an activity or craft, or go through a lesson. Come see what’s going on this week! Email Seth Horstman with any questions.

Sunday School:

Sunday mornings we gather between worship services for a deeper conversation about God, Faith, and Scripture. This 6th-12th grade class meets in the youth room (lower level of the church), from 10:15am-11:00am; you can contact Seth Horstman for details.

Mission Trips:

Our summer mission trips offer a chance for students to be God’s hands and feet by serving others. In the summer of 2020, we did a Mission Un-Trip, serving independently in our community when it wasn't safe to travel. In 2021 and 2022, we held intergenerational Spread the Love Saturdays, serving a variety of local ministries.

In 2023 we will be a partnering with SendMe Refuge for a Mission to Mexico! You can email Seth Horstman to learn more and get involved.

Confirmation:

Confirmation is a one-year ministry offering students a chance to explore what it means to live as a disciple in The United Methodist Church while they decide whether to confirm their faith and claim the promises made on their behalf at baptism. Classes begin in September for students who are starting 8th grade (and older students who have not yet been confirmed) and conclude with students making their commitments on Confirmation Sunday in April. We have weekly classes on Sunday afternoons in addition to field trips and service opportunities. Pastor Allison Warren leads our Confirmation ministry.
